Strategically lead a large, complex and diverse organisation building better life outcomes for all Territorians
- Build connected and empowered communities
- Real impact in addressing social disadvantage
- Strategic leadership of social programs/services
The Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities is a multi-functional human services and community-focused agency providing support services across child protection, domestic and family violence, youth justice services, housing, homelessness, social inclusion, sport and active recreation, and celebrating the arts, culture, heritage, libraries and archives.
The agency supports every life stage from newborns to seniors. It provides a range of varied services from crisis support when Territorians need it most, to celebrating them when they are at their best, building strong, vibrant, and diverse communities.
Leading a workforce of over 1200 and managing a budget of around $1.2B, the Chief Executive Officer provides the agency with strategic leadership to a broad range of policy, services and programs, aligned to Government priorities, community needs and the agency’s purpose and capabilities.
The successful candidate will bring an understanding of contemporary and emerging social, family, housing and community issues particularly in regional and remote areas in the Territory, or similar environments.
In what can at times be a challenging and ambiguous environment, you will possess the maturity of leadership to maintain good decision making and sustain focus and commitment within your workforce. You will have a track record of delivery whilst managing finances within this sphere, an understanding of the system of government, and the ability to effectively represent the Territory in national conversations.
